Once upon a time, in a small town in Bucks County, Pennsylvania… It was just before Christmas of 1996. My children and I were driving through our neighborhood spellbound by the glittering lights and holiday sounds. And suddenly, before we knew what was happening, a new book, Christmas on Lindbergh Mountain was about to be born.
I began weaving a story, that just came from my imagination. We originally made the book as a “Touch and Feel” book that we gave as gifts to family and friends. That was way back in 1996. I was encouraged by the response to the story and eventually created an audio version as well as a picture book. Both are available now for purchase on Amazon and on Kindle.
Here are some of the pictures from “back in the day” when we had fun making the books as a Gallagher family project. For years, we just read it on Christmas Eve, from 1996 until this year. Now we want to share the heartwarming story with families all over the world. Here is a picture of the book cover as it is now…….and the pictures that follow are from the “original home-made on the kitchen table” version of “Christmas on Lindbergh Mountain.” I still love that edition because of the happy memories of our family making it together when the kids were 6, 9, 12 and 14. They are now ages 26, 29, 32 and 34.
We must have run out of glue and started using tape to attach the items!
This is a picture of our family about the time that we wrote “Christmas on Lindbergh Mountain.”
Here is a picture of my children as young adults…..many years later.
